Reptiles and Resiliency at the Library 5/21
@ The Waukesha Public Library 5:30p - 6:30p
Join us for a mental health-focused event, Reptiles and Resiliency, at the Waukesha Public Library! WPS Reptiles and the United for Waukesha Resiliency Center are teaming up to host this interactive program at no cost to the community. Bill Stewart, owner of WPS Reptiles, says, “Reptiles are successful on our planet by being resilient and adapting quickly to changes that threaten them in the environment. Reptiles can teach us ways to be resilient in the face of difficult situations and changes in our lives. We will explore reptile adaptation, defenses and how they can be metaphors for our own recovering from adversity. Healthy and safe hands-on interactions with exotic and unique animals can help conquer myths and fears about these amazing creatures.” Bill Stewart, LCSW, also shares that reptiles can be valuable tools for teaching lessons on compassion, empathy, and connection. Reptiles and Resiliency: Wednesday, May 21st, 5:30-6:30 pm – Families and children are encouraged to join. All youth must be accompanied by a primary caregiver. This therapeutic program is intended for children and families affected by the Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy.
